HVAC service · The Colony

AC and heating repair in The Colony, TX.

The Colony is about seventeen miles southeast of our Denton base, on the east shore of Lewisville Lake.

What we see in The Colony

1970s homes on electric heat, plus newer lakeside builds.

The first families moved into The Colony in October 1974, into a planned community of Fox & Jacobs homes. A large core of those houses is still standing, and about 69% of homes in the city heat with electricity. That is the highest share of any larger city on our map.

In practice that means a lot of heat pump work, and in the older homes, a lot of ductwork that has been there since the 1970s. Before replacing equipment in one of those houses, it is worth checking the ducts. A new system pushing air through leaking ducts in a hot attic will never live up to its rating.

Your utilities

Power, gas and rebates in The Colony.

The city lists Oncor, in the retail-choice area, and CoServ for electric service, and Atmos for gas. Oncor’s efficiency program pays incentives through registered contractors. CoServ members can earn a $10 monthly summer bill credit with an approved smart thermostat, and Atmos customers can get $300 to $350 back on a qualifying high-efficiency furnace.

Utility programs change. Check the current terms with your provider before you count on a rebate.

  • Every repair comes out of a set book, the same price for every customer
  • Nights and weekends are one flat $95 after-hours charge per visit, not a multiplier
  • If we cannot fix it, you pay the diagnostic and get an honest answer in writing
