When replacement actually makes sense

Repair usually wins. Replacement starts making sense when:

• The compressor is dead and the system is past ten years old.
• It runs on R-22 — production ended years ago, the remaining supply is reclaimed, and it is expensive enough per pound that recharging a leaking system starts rivalling the cost of fixing the real problem.
• Repairs are stacking up two and three a season.
• It was undersized or the ductwork was wrong from day one, and no repair is ever going to fix that.

If none of those describe your system, we’ll tell you to repair it. We’ll give you both numbers and let you pick.

What’s included

Manual J load calculation

We size to your actual house — square footage, insulation, window load, duct condition — not to whatever was there before. Half the “my AC can’t keep up” calls we run are systems that were sized by replacing like-for-like without anyone checking whether the original was right.

Carrier equipment on R-454B

The current refrigerant, not one on its way out.

Permit and inspection

Pulled properly. An unpermitted install is a problem you inherit at resale.

Startup, commissioning, and warranty registration

Registration matters — an unregistered Carrier system gets a much shorter parts warranty, and it has to be done within a set window after install.

Old system hauled off

Included. You should not be left with a condenser on your side yard.

Financing

Financing is available on replacements. We’ll walk you through the plans when we quote the job, with the total cost of each spelled out — not just the monthly payment.

What we won’t do

We won’t quote you a system in your living room the same hour we condemned your old one, and we won’t give you a “today only” price. If a price is good today it is good Thursday.
